Haboucha was discovered at ProScout and started acting in commercials in Texas. He became well known after his appearance in the 2003 music video for the Fountains of Wayne song Stacy's Mom. In the video, he plays a twelve year old boy who is infatuated with the mother of Stacy, one of his female schoolmates. As a result of the video's popularity, Haboucha was cast in guest appearances on several television series, including The O.C., The Bernie Mac Show, Judging Amy, Everwood, ER, That's So Raven, Monk (TV series), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Without A Trace. He also performed the voice of the kid Superman in Justice League Unlimited episode 'Kid Stuff' and Billy Batson, the young alter ego of superhero, Captain Marvel in the episode "Clash".

Haboucha attended a Jewish private school, Tarbut V' Torah Community Day School until the eighth grade, and is now home schooled. He enjoys drawing, playing ice hockey, and has a Black Belt degree in Kenpo Karate. Shane also has two dogs, and resides in Irvine, California.
